Think I just found a TN booner.

Unread postby Tennhunter3 » Wed Sep 30, 2020 4:26 am

I just pulled a camera I left on a scrape since August and it had 7 different bucks only 2 were shooters.

A 130 inch 8 point and a huge 11point that is between 160 and pushing 170. Thing is just a freak of a deer.

Never thought I'd find one on public this size. I hunted one last year that was pushing 160 in another area. I'm in total shock a buck of this size could live in public woods.

its unreal his mass is bigger then his ears.
He is in velvet but still.

How to hunt him well I just walked to that scrape and got my scent in their. I only got pics of him oneday in a month. Right before dark.

I know a few locals hunt the area but they hunt the obvious oaks.

I'm thinking I'm going to grid hunt him throwing sits in as I go. I'm fairly certain I know where he beds. Their is 3 bedding areas known in this public piece.

I'm kinda scared to hunt him.

The area he is living in i would have never believed a buck like this could live in. A private farm in Iowa yeah here just no way.

Funny thing is this entire area wasn't even on my list this year.

Good luck ! Were I you, I would put the time in for him this year while you have a shot at a buck of a lifetime.

I hope you get a crack at him.

This is the first year that I've run zero cameras since I started hunting. I'm pretty excited about it. Maybe I'll set up on some fresh sign and be surprised by a Tennessee booner too! :D

That is seriously exciting TN3!!

Go after him. Might only get an opportunity like this in years.

Forget your other spots unless you know you’re going to booger it up on the wrong wind, etc.

It’s go time. :D

Good luck man!

I’ve got a TN deer on camera that’s about 170” and is an 11 point also. Also in the same area a 155-160” 10 point, 145” 10 point, 135-140” ten point. Also an 8 that could be misjudged as a 130” deer but I doubt we’re in the same area

Doesn’t have a sticker off the left base and 25-26” main beams with 5-6” brows does it?

Yeah the same thing happened to me and changed my plan. I have a huge 15pt on camera in KY that showed up unexpected. It’s so old I don’t think he’ll ever get bigger and my big TN deer might still blow up next year
