Good luck Lockdown. I might have missed it but how long will you be here for?

Hope you feel better. I'm battling the same thing the last 4 days and missed yesterdays hunt because of it. Sucks but glad I got it now instead of a few weeks from now during peak rut.

It’s going to be short but sweet Dewey! Have to leave Sunday.

I’m headed East! Gotta make a pit stop in St. Cloud, but I’m hoping to make it in time to shine for a bit. Hopefully I don’t total this rig looking for deer at sundown

Quick question: what are WI water access laws? Can you access landlocked public on a river if the water itself is accessed from the road right of way?

In MN you can. Put the kayak in the ditch and you can go wherever you want as long as the water is deep enough to float your watercraft.

I believe you can access via river or creek as long as you dont travel out of the high water line.

We’re all set up at camp. We made it out for 45 minutes of shining near some of the marginal stuff I have pinned. Saw 18 deer, 1 buck (on public), but he was pretty decent. Tyler had him in the spotting scope and said he was out to his ears with 7” tines and pretty good mass.

Both of us would shoot him if he walked by, but he’s not big enough to target. Could be a stud two year old or small three.

Yeah you can do that. Water is public domain. Probably going to find a lot of private land tactics on that public though

I decided I’m going to keep all my updates here rather than live from the field. Found quite a few deer this morning. 16 does and 2 bucks. 1 shooter and he was just off public about 400 yards from one of my pins.

Tyler is scouting one property, I’ll be heading about 1 1/4 miles in to scope out the potential spots for this buck. He was eyeing up 5 does in the bean field.

Lots of tracks crossing the road.

Not a good pic of the buck. Pretty sure he’s a three year old. Big bodied deer. I knew it was a shooter the second I saw him.
