Going in the wind was different then radars showed.
I believed bedding on north slopes.
I was going pretty quiet and kicked a group of bucks out of their beds on a southern slope. Several went one way and rest another.
I noticed a tight funnel with a deep creek which met transition I decided to cross the funnel and setup.
I'm second guessing myself if I should've just stopped 80 yards west of me. In order for bucks in that direction to reach me they would need to follow my entry trail.
Should I hold tight or head back west.
Either way I'm burning a direction of travel.
Where I am is thicker and not as open which may be better.

I almost killed a buck in this area last year I saw no sign so I kept pushing into the unknown. And then kicked the bucks.

Well you learned something. Pack that little nugget away and keep moving forward. If you’re seeing them you’re doing something right.

Dont second guess yourself, trust your gut
Sit there gather your thoughts and make adjustment if needed or hang tight. What ever your gut says follow it
No need to sit a set doubting what you’re doing

Thanks
I had no idea that bedding area was in that spot.
It really messed with me.

I'm surprised the bump and dump hasn't came into the discussion yet.

I have yet to find a weather source that is accurate when I get out to where I want to hunt. Sometimes it’s consistently different and if you take notes on that spot you will be able to pick up on that so you will know in the future. If that makes sense.
It is always a good idea to have a plan B....or...C.

I had a buck come in from below was thick brush in transition.
I didn't know he was their until he bolted.
He caught my falling thermal and ran off along the transition line.
My wind kept changing from north to south.
I did find a very large rubbed tree next to a bed with fresh velvet on it. I did learn quite a bit from this hunt.
Their was alot of pressure by road and I pushed in deeper in a spot I had never been.
The area is very strange no scrapes no small rubs just a few very large signpost and several bedding areas.

I tend to drop milk weed from the time I leave the truck. Wind tonight was supposed to be sw, but once at the parking lot I noticed it going se. As I walked through the valley i noticed it switching to ESE which let me approach the spot differently than I intended.
