Saw a six or basket 8 tonight.

Literally just about ran into him driving home a few minutes ago.

Couldn't tell if he still had both sides, but I was surprised that he hasn't shed yet.

Must have been eating good all winter. I saw a buck one year still carrying both sides the end of April. They seem to have a very wide range of horn growth and shedding.

Now that the snow is gone, he should be doing better. The does have been hitting the south-facing slopes for anything green, which is there on neighborhood lawns.

I've seen stumps in Dec and both sides in April, very dependent on the conditions and individual deer.

About 45 and sunny today in SE WI. Deer all over the place at a noon drive on I94 from Brookfield on out enjoying the sun and available food.

I love seeing them back on their feet and turning the corner from a cold winter.

I always like hearing about midday movement. Never fails when I bring up the moon data. 8-)

Seems they were up a little early for the major.

We went shed hunting at the farm I hunt 2 weeks ago and didn't find a single one. We still have about 15 acres of standing beans and 5 acres of standing corn so I don't know if they are just still holding or what. We usually find a couple this time of year so it was odd. We really walked the beans and corn and didn't find a single one. Did find a dead head from a buck we last had on camera Feb 1st. I think the cold spell got him we had in early February. Shame, he was a good 2.5 year old.
