Thats awesome- it seems simple enough observe and make a change, how many people see deer moving but sit in the same spot over and over? I knw im guilty of that-not this year though, Im gonna see-and move!

Hello Beasts,

I'll try to keep this short. Second year employing beast tactics. I was driving around glassing at prime time and saw 2 nice bucks. They were using a piece of public land that I'm familiar with but I have never hunted in the area they were using. I thought to myself, if they do the same thing tomorrow night, I can set up on these deer. I decided I would throw a hunt at them.

The next day I hurried over after work to where I saw them the previous night with a ghillie suit, a folding chair, a decent wind, and my fingers crossed (I didn't have time to hang a set.) I set up roughly 25 yards off the trail I anticipated them using.

The K.I.S.S. method (keep it simple stupid) seemed too easy but, my mind was made up. Deer, much like humans, are creatures of habit. Right on cue, both bucks that I saw the previous night were walking down the trail I thought they might be on. They had no idea I was waiting for them. My shot was unfavorable but fatal and I was able to recover my best bow buck to date the next day. I believe that my first time hunting the area was crucial to my success.

Great buck! Have to say I'm a bit jelous. Here I am dealing with a heat wave and skeeters. While u killed a swolled up toad with leafs covering the ground and piles of snow. Life just don't seem fair lol.
