Great question!

I know that Dan would like to get a DVD out as soon as possible without sacrificing quality. I have worked on some internet video projects and not only does it take some time to lay down the footage, but a tremendous amount of time for the video to be edited for use. I can only say to be patient because he does have something in the works!

Dan - can you add to this?

I have a lot of stuff in the works... I was in the middle of editing an extreme turkey hunting DVD when bloodbro bus crashed. So, I am going to finish that. I am really excited about making a public land hunting DVD that teaches how we get onto public land big bucks... A midwestern bear hunting DVD is in the works, and we would like to put together an entertainment DVD annually or biannually with video submitted by everyone on the site. Right now Chris is helping with the editing and I like that cause he is close by and I can meet with him often to make sure it goes my way. But I am also looking for more options than just chris. Guess we will see if he can handle the work load with everything else he has going. 8-)

Wow- busy is an understatement. The public land bucks will have me losing sleep already. You guys do a great job in a world of wannabees and salesmen!

Man I can't wait for that 8-)

Dan I think the entertainment dvd is a great idea. Don't get me wrong I like the educational videos better, but seeing REAL hunters, especially ones you know from here, getting it done would be cool.
I have thought about trying to video my hunts because I think it would be sweet to have video of my first deer with the bow, but I think I will be nervous enough without having to worry about the camera. Turkey hunting this year a buddy and I drew different weeks so we're videoing each other. :D

That's one thing I will say and I don't know Dan's feelings on it, but if you get video you want to submit for a DVD, it would be best if you can keep it under wraps til after it has been released on the DVD. That way most of the footage for the DVD's stays fresh and people have not already seen it elsewhere. So please don't post the video up on youtube or anywhere else on a public video site til after the DVD comes out.

I agree with Chris... But may still use the footage. I would likely go over the hunt differently than it was used on youtube or use less of it... But I would still consider it.

Ok, i can pry take it off of youtube.. i think

Would it work if i took all the footage from that hunt and put it on one mini DV tape and gave it to you at the Madison show? Then you can go through it and do what you want with it. Or does the quality of the footage decrease when i transfer it from one tape to the other?

I have some friends that will readily tape for me, but their usually in a tree somewhere themselves. . . I can hang some taping sets if anyone is willing to film a couple times for the sake of this movie. Anyone?

I could possibly return the favor?

Sam I'd be on board for a couple sits. I you could do it for me. It would be sweet to help each other out to get some footage for the dvd.

Very cool. You're not too far off either - just west of Oconomowoc a couple miles, right? Off 16? I'm hunting right in Delafield, Waukesha and Erin by Holy Hill. More than likely do filming in the Waukesha and Delafield sites.

 What sounds like a fun idea to me would be to have a Hunting Beast DVD made by members of the Beast in teams, like the Drury's do. Just a thought, but a fun one at that! :!:
