How? SW wind - big woods.

I have hunted all around this low area, but never real specific.
Winds will be coming from the South West

-Mtn. to the North
-New growth from logging last year to the South, terrain is hilly
-Access from any direction

Looking for input on approach and ambush location...

Hey Ed, marked some spots I liked and a couple of stand locations for SW wind. I like that whole cedar swamp too but would need to pinpoint bedding to take a stab at a stand location. You could always just approach it from the wind in your face and sneak in there and see if something shows up or try an observation sit if you have a good view of the area, guessing it is too thick for observing but you never know.

The Cedar Swamp is extremely thick with tunnels for paths.
I like this area a lot, just haven't done much footwork.

You could always bump that first little knob on the way to the swamp area too, a little stacking on your way there and checking two spots in one hunt. Might blow out a buck this year but have great intel for next season.

I like those spots too for a SW. Have you had good luck to the North on a northerly wind?

I only grazed this area last year.
Found some decent sign, nothing major though...

I'm thinking this spot is the feeder zone for bucks.
My theory is the South hills have been selectively cut over the past 2-3 years.
Both my buddy and me killed little bucks last year on the hills. Lots of sign / feed.

This got me thinking and relooking @ aerials and past experiences.

My buddy killed a 146" 2 years ago.
I also tracked a big buck that came from the swamp direction, and I also jumped a 24" wide buck that was shot when it bolted from me... ( I know the guy who killed it 10 minutes after I jumped him).

I now believe there is a high probability these bucks came from this Super Swamp and now I'm gonna prove it!
How's that for an attitude Magic!?

My plan is to spot & stalk from the east & bump the east island looking for intel. I will likely continue a North path around the top of the swamp looking for sign & get a vantage point for viewing a maybe a chance @ whatever comes out of the swamp...

I have an antler only & also an anything tag (bow).
As well as a firearms tag.
I'm gonna pretend any deer coming thru is a North Korean President
