Waders
I was just looking for advice on new hunting waders. Any recommendations on brand and styles? Looking for something light , durable, quiet and comfy enough to wear in the stand all day. Thanks!

Re: Waders
I wear waders the entire early season. But they are not light or comfy. I prefer the rubber chest waders with boots attached. I like the rubber best do to the neoprene always tear up quickly in thorns and briars. The lighter waders made out of the pvc type stuff are just to noisy for me, always scratching on the tree or brush. Also it doesn't take much to blow out the crotch on the climb. Fishing waders are usually a lot cheaper than than the hunting ones.

Re: Waders
Fighting this myself. I've tried a bunch and haven't bought yet. Cab's Supermags are durable and fit well but 1600g thinsulate won't work for the walking or hauling, certainly not the light you're looking for.
Even if I regularly dry the insides with a fan – waders don't breath and they stink of man. The outsides have a chemical smell, also supposed to treat the expensive ones to preserve a warranty. They're also heavy and loud. Trying to figure out a different plan. With an Oct opener wet wading discomfort might be my best bet but I don't want to be "dripping" attention to my tree either.

Re: Waders
I use fishing Chest waders or hippers with a zip style boot (ORVIS) I think.........then I leave them at the bottom of the tree with my bungees.

Re: Waders
I've just used LL Bean waders. Bought them a couple of years ago for fly fishing and oystering/quahogging. LL Bean waranty is hassle free so I dont worry about tearing them. They definely are not heavy duty.

Thanks for the replies. I will check LL bean. Has anyone given canvas wading pants a try?

Haven't bought any yet but these will be my next waders. Everyone here that has a pair loves them.

Re: Waders
A 25 year old pair of lacrosse marsh hip boots has been all I need. I'll bungee a more comfortable pair to my stand for the hike out. Worked well for gun season last year and my mile hike through river bottoms. I wear a thin pair of jeans under and if the water goes over the top, oh well. 90% of my clothing is on my back.
Wouldn't say bringing two pairs of boots on a hunt is the best decision, but I am also young and only need waders once or twice a year at most for hunting. So I can't really justify dropping the money on a new pair to not use them. I would not get insulated though. Last thing I want is insulated stuff in september.

I got a good deal on some cabelas waders but haven't got to try them out yet. I don't plan on wearing them the whole time just to cross deep water

I got a pair of these with lacross aeroheads boots, got them recently and have probably logged 15+ miles in them so far and I can say I'm very impressed.

Are they the AeroHead Sport or the regular ones? Did you buy them thru Dan's?

Aeroheads sports, bought through Dans. Also, i followed their directions for sizing and they fit great. Think with the aeroheads they were $204 to my door.
