I got off at 2 pm. The wife got off at 3. We were shooting our handguns by 3:30. By 5 I was scouting the northern Kettle Moraine State Forest. I went looking for Morrels and found about 50 little ones. A good afternoon. It got a bit better. I found a dead deer very close to where I hunted. It was a nubby. Very strange how it just died there and was not all torn up from coyotes. A bit later , to my surprise I kicked up a grouse. I heard it pounding it's wings and think it was the same one. Would be nice to see more grouse. Then I kick up a turkey, a hen flew off the ground. A quick look , and sure enough, 15 eggs on they roost. Hope the coons dont find them. Still no shed antlers. I did notice more deer tracks lately . I imagine does looking for a safe place to drop their fawns. Later, ihookem.
