DNR trailcam.
I was out scouting some public land today and came across a DNR trailcam. It was placed in the strangest location. It was facing a thicket with the game trail behind the cam. Didn't seem like a good set up, but who knows what they are trying to get on camera. Just curious if anyone has ever seen this before.

Re: DNR trailcam.
Where I hunt there are now 2 DNR cameras overlooking a field. One is 12 feet high and the other is 4 feet high.

Re: DNR trailcam.
How do you know it was "dnr"?
Seems like a good way to label cams for people to be maybe less likely to steal them.

Re: DNR trailcam.
The boxes I saw were labeled obviously with the same signage as the rest of the park. They stuck out like sore thumbs. Also the boxes themselves looked old and poorly maintained. I would bet they are DNR boxes as labeled.

When my brother was a game warden he ran 6 cams for locating wolfs.

Re: DNR trailcam.
Never have seen a DNR Trail Camera.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Exactly. When questioned just tell them the truth. The guy I bought them from at the garage sale had initials DNR. Just a coincidence I guess...lol.
I don't care enough to actually do this. Hang em high and no issues so far.

Re: DNR trailcam.
The camera had MDNR and a number engraved on it. It wasn't in a lock box, which was a surprise. Just cable locked to the tree. They had marking tape in the trees on their trail too. The tape was labeled MDNR too.

Re: DNR trailcam.
I've run across them at highway crossings to determine deer's routes.
Years later they added walk-unders for the deer to get across highway locations to reduce collisions.
