Thanks for the heads up. Ordered an A-5 so we'll see how it goes.

I'm not a fan of Tasco cams but for $24.99 they might be worth taking the risk

Avoid the BTC5. Buy the BTC5HD. Both offer hd, but only buy the one with it in its product numbering.

Youll get 15ft of illumination out of those Tascos.

Why should the one without the HD be avoided?

I've heard the opposite, that the ones with HD should be avoided. I bought two anyways and deployed them yesterday, along with 3 from last year that do not have the HD in label. I had good luck with my first ones.

Poor cam parameters.

2015 BTC5HD cam move up and down a wide spectrum of cam parameters - ISO and exposure index. This results in very well adjusted night images. When a deer is three feet in front of cam, the cam adjusts to not washout the image, leading to less blur and more clarity as well. Same deer 30 feet away and the cam lights up the night to get it. The cam has dynamic metering capabilities to adjust quickly. Most cams on market today use a centered average. As this technology increases, night images on cams are going to get better.

I have both the BTC5 and the HD. Both work great and have had no issues with either IMO

I have used D battery cams in the past and from now on its AA or nothing for me. The (8) AA batteries just last! 8-) My friend has the browning black ops and we both thought the battery indicator had to be broken, cause after a month of pics and videos it still read 99%. My D500 moultrie uses the (8) AA batteries and it also just keeps on clicking. I tried those new burgandy colored quantum batteries, sucked. I stick with regular duracel with great results. If I use energizer, I like the lithiums.

Bought 4 of these also. Lots of blurry pics with a few good ones mixed in. If you don't care about pic quality, they are worth it.

I put it on single pic and did get about 5 blury pics in a row (in the morning) out of 150 or so. Out of 150 or so videos I have got about 5 that are low visibility, meaning you dont see anything but the eyes. Yes it can be frustrating, but the remaining vids/pics were more than except-able. I contacted moultrie and their engineers suggested I not have the camera mounted up high and angled down, its not intended to work like that. Well I have it on a pole now at knee height and same issues now and again. I bought the 2yr extended walmart warranty plan, not sure how they will honor that if needed since they dont seem to have this cam any longer.

Just picked up 2 Wildgame Innovations Axe 5 cams at Dicks in store for $39.99 each.

I know there has been a little bashing of WGI cams on here but I have two similar units and they have worked flawlessly for three years now.

At this price I don't have a heartache if they get stolen on public land or stop working after a year or two.
