My new Covert Blackhawk cellular

Unread postby dreaming bucks » Mon Dec 07, 2015 4:38 am

I put up my new cellular camera yesterday, a covert with the new VERIZON coverage. I've been waiting for them to come out with a different coverage than ATT, and finally they did... I chose the small monthly plan, which is around $15 for 1000 pics, which I'll never fill up where I keep the camera. Here is a picture I got this morning. I made a mock scrape and pee'd in it to get deer to stop. So far I love it!!!

Keep us updated on this... I tried one when it was AT&T and had no signal. But Verizon seems to work better in the hills... so I'm curious how it goes. Maybe I will try it again

Interesting.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Verizon works better everywhere as far as I can tell and definitely works where others will not.

I am really curious as to how long the battery life will last, I'm going to keep track of how many pics I get sent to me on one set of batteries...

It takes 12 AA batteries, and I'm running the lithiums for this winter.

I just got this night picture. I only have it set at 5 mega pix, I believe that there is two higher settings to take better pics, but I believe that also eats up more battery when you do that, so I'm going to just leave it at 5...

Please keep us updated. I have some interest in these type of cameras but know little about them.

Thanks for the trial and updates. I will be following this thread as I too have been wanting to purchase a couple cameras to monitor areas once they become hot or holding the buck im after. What was the price of the camera itself? Also on a side not, it looks like that younger doe/button buck is curious of your mock scrape, mom could care less.

I have been wanting a cell cam. Especially on the Verizon network, but from what I heard they need a few bars to work reliably. If they would work on one bar I would be checking for one with my suppliers asap. It would be like Chrstmass morning every day. :D
