Who's ready for predator season?
The peak season for predator hunting in the midwest is coming up. Two friends and I did a stand Friday night. Just as we were settling in the yotes starting howling; always great to get some confirmation before you start calling. I was the caller across from a hay field and had a pack circle 200 yards around my calling. My good friend got 2 shots off at two of the yotes but he was offhand in an old creaky deer stand and did not connect. It was a good kick-off to the season for us though!

Re: Who's ready for predator season?
We had great snow on the ground here in MN for the past few weeks until today when the all day rain took care of it. Back to trying to fill my archery tags for a while.

I saw a lot of coyote and fox tracks today when I was out cruising around some marshes. Not a single pheasant track wonder why? Has anyone else seen a dramatic decrease in pheasant populations the last few years?

I'm just starting to get into yote hunting.Went a few times with my bro and the dogs but was never in the right spot for a shot.Hope to get out a few more times this year. We'll have to wait until bow hunting ends so we can run the dogs!!

I've noticed fewer and fewer pheasants the past 2 years, this year I have only heard one rooster crowing while in stand and have not seen any at all while hunting.

I did two set ups last night... No yotes. I was in a ood area and was surprised. Last year I did two sits in the same area and killed dogs on both.
