Headed down to central forest zone for some Scouting/fishing just wondering how snow conditions are down there, will have my 5 yr old so he will delegate time spent in the woods, but I'll be able to get a good idea of areas to focus on in future scouts, thanx

Re: Central forest zone
4-8 depending on the exact area you walk. A lot of drifting off leeward side of open areas, not so much on the windward side. Snow is firm, so your 5 year old should able to walk on top most places. You...every few steps unless you have shoes.

Re: Central forest zone
I expect everyone will be breaking through this weekend with the above freezing temps!
A lot of antlers have been popping the last couple weeks with many bucks still holding. Seems like mostly 2 years olds the last couple of weekes. It should be a GREAT weekend to walk.
This has been a great winter. If we get an early spring warm up with plenty of rain, the racks will be great throughout the midwest and Canada.

Yep so far so good, definitely what the herd needed! I've never had to hunt south due to lack of mature bucks so this is historic for me.
