Made a trip to Bayou Meto today. The temps were in 70's an wind was blowing a lot. I spent the day setting behind blow downs. Seems I had the right idea. Bumped two bucks bedded from behind blow downs near a swamp area. I sat behind a blow down for couple hours seeing if they would come back. No luck. I started noticing some rubs an couple scrapes. A quick check of the GPS confirmed what I was thinking. I was near a small swamp area. Got interesting quick. Below is a few pictures of what I learned today. The place is covered with beds an rubs an a beaver dam crossing in the swamp. These pictures were taking from this area almost 3/4's of mile from the parking lot. No other sign of human activity in there. There are 3 trails coming out of the swamp area. Wish I knew the answer. Which one to sit first?
Found some good sign today in Bayou Meto.
