When you guys talk about hunting hill country and say, 1/4 - 1/3 from top of ridge, does that mean from the point (highest spot on the entire ridge) of the ridge or the 1/4 below the specific area your talking about. Confusing question so I added a pic. The x represents the ridge top and the arrow represents the 1/3 from the top. Which arrow is correct? thanks

1/4 or 1/3 are not exact... Your looking for the military crest. The point where the gradual slope starts to suddenly drop much faster. Its easier to see in some areas than others. Look for old rub lines.

cruise trails are also usually along that line too, right?
