Halloween Buck

Halloween gave me a nice treat yesterday. I took off work yesterday but wasn't really sure how good hunting would be with the high winds here in Wisconsin. I woke up early and the wind was definitely strong already but figured I wasn't gonna see a deer in my bed so I headed out. I made it till eleven seeing two smaller bucks but that was it. I went home ate some lunch and decided where I wanted to try for the evening. Over the winter a buddy and I scouted and found some buck beds and I always wanted to hunt them but never had the confidence. I figured I would take what I learned from this site and try it out knowing that the winds were gonna be strong all day and a north wind would be perfect. I went out at 1:30 stand on back sticks in hand. I sent up in a birch only thirty yards in the woods about 7 feet off the ground. At about 3:30 i notice a spike buck and started to watch him when two bigger bucks busted out of the brush fighting. I realized the bigger buck was guarding a doe. Once the two stop fighting the smaller 8 made his way my way and I shot him at 10 yards and ran about 100 yards before going down. This isn't my biggest buck but very proud of him cause it was my first ever hang and hunt. Thanks for all the great advice on here copper/displayimage.php?pid=4545
