Great buck! Not trying to knock it, but it did not look like the score given so I broke it down... Lets see if you guys agree?
Based on the smallest X2
25 inch main beams (50)
5 inch brows (60)
14 inch G-2's (88)
12 inch G-3's (112)
8 inch G-4's (128)
5 C-1 (138)
4 C-2 (146)
4 C-3 (154)
3 C-4 (160)
20 INSIDE SPREAD (180)

Since the single G-5 has no match, it will not count in net score.
I give 180 inchs...

Dan,

Pics are sometimes deceiving but I think you are light on the mass. I bet the C1s are close to 6 and carries almost 5s the rest of the way which would put the animal closer to 190s gross

I'm originally from that area... I heard net typical score mid 180"s... no where near a state record. There was one shot near Lady Smith WI that is pushing close to the state recored typical. It was unofficial 215" gross with probably 15-20"s of deductions. The most massive main frame 10pt I have ever seen anywhere including the internet.

If this is true I would like to see this buck from Ladysmith... I would agree Waupaca County in general is coming on hot. Shawano and Otagamie also produce some giants. I was in JR's Sports shop in Iola and I swear there have been at least 25-30 P&Y minimum bucks registered there and several bucks in the 180's - 190's. It's unreal. As a matter of fact I pulled into town there on Saturday and there were 4 seriously 4 wall hangers being registered at that time. I wonder if it's QDM or if the thick fog from last years gun season let a few of these boys put an extra year on. Too bad next year it's supposed to be rifle! Thanks DNR!

Here ya go.... I got from a friend of a friend... 215"s and change green gross... this buck blows the Wild Rose buck out of the water.... without the sticker pts/mini drops would likely net around 200+"s!

Would that thing score as a typical or non-typical? I know of a buck shot in Scandinavia, WI that is 100% typical but has a single flier off the back that's about 4". I was once told if there are any misdirected points it is considered a NT. Anyone know how this works? I don't.

It can be scored either way... if typical all those drops/flier/stickers are deductions to the net typcal score. If scored non-typical those drops/fliers/stickers are all additions to net typical score.

Awesome buck! But no state record. Too many deductions for typical, not enough junk for nontypical. Should easly make B&C though.

At 215" gross, I don't see more than 20"s of deductions... my guess is this one nets in the 190"s typical

I can see about 25 inches in Non-typ. deductions before you even do side to side.

I'll let you know the final tally when it is done... either way that is one MASSIVE rack!

You got me second guessing... so I just made a phone call... unofficial it was 194 6/8 net typical. Less than 5"s side to side deductions, right around 15"s of drop/stickers/double brow deductions.

I was going to try and prove you wrong, so I went thru my photo's and found a picture of Andrae with his 184 typical. But it looks smaller than this buck... So, I guess I proved myself wrong. You may be right. But over the years you see so many stories about "the new state record" that turn out to be false you start to question it... It will be interesting to see the final tally after official scoring.

I'm with you... no sense in arguing over a picture... the heavy mass buck is the one that went unofficial 194 and change net typical... Inda Buck I guess was 188 and change per the article. The neat thing is WI is cranking out some more MEGA SLOBs this year...

I just think this is the coolest thing... I got a texted picture from my neighbor who's family 300 acre property is next door to where this buck was shot - crazy. Now it's headlining outdoor news.
