What is your favorite time to scout and why?

Anytime I can... My most productive time to scout however, is December thru green up, when there is no snow if I an scouting on foot. I like to shine July thru the season. And cyber scout when ever I get the chance.

My least favorite time is summer. Anytime from end of gun season through spring is good for me.

When scouting with snow I've found (in my areas) that most beds I find aren't used in early season. I recently read a post, but I forgot who posted it maybe Dan, that most beds in the snow in hill country are most likely used in early season?

I enjoy post season scouting the most, pretty much have thousands of acres to myself to roam and get into every nook and cranny.

But I think in-season scouting, with a stand on your back is the most exciting when you start finding what you are looking for...

Overcast days in the early spring. Like right now.

Kinda nice when the marsh is froze over and there's little to no snow so you can walk right over top the ice...

I like to scout after the last snow and before the greenup. However, I think I will have to do some scouting in Mid may to catch up. The snow made a short scouting season for me.
