White Buck shot in Sauk County
Don't know if anyone has seen this on the news over the past couple days, but it's been big news around me. I live about 10 miles from where this was shot..... I really don't have a strong feeling one way or the other on whether it should have been shot, but I know some of the people around the area that have watched this buck for the past 5 years, were really attached to the deer. Lots of ticked off people because of this deer getting shot.... The deer was shot completely LEGAL, the hunter did nothing wrong, but I think people are just mad because it is such a rare animal, and they loved watching it...... either way, pretty cool buck, I did not hear a score, but he must go in the 150's at least....

Re: White Buck shot in Sauk County
Awesome buck, I would of shot it in a heart beat...
I am amused at the way people attack the hunter for doing what he has a legal right to do... If you don't want white deer, or brown ones for that matter, shot, well then do what you can to change the law... But this guy did nothing wrong and has a beautiful trophy. I would be willing to bet he sells the cape and antlers to a collector... White buck capes with large racks have been fetching a good price. A guy shot a pretty big white one over here and Cabelas offered him $17,000 for it.

Re: White Buck shot in Sauk County
That is a trophy for sure. I can sympathize with the people that watched it through the years. I enjoy watching bucks almost as much as killing them anymore myself. I'm glad for the hunter and at the same time sad for the audience. I would have not hesitated to kill it myself.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

I always get a laugh when I hear how people get upset when a white deer is shot. It is a genetic mutation not a sacred animal. In reality, it should be culled from the herd to prevent it from breeding and passing the weakness on. I think it is an awesome trophy for sure and I would be happy to get him myself.

Super awesome buck. What a buck if a lifetime. Full body mount would need to be on order with that one.
The local lobbyists had laws passed to protect albinos in TN.

If you want to kill a deer you have to be in the woods.

Re: White Buck shot in Sauk County
It was all over the news way over here a little while ago.. The liberal tree huggers were screaming for the DNR to stop making it so easy for people to kill such rare animals
