How far out do u guys look when planning when to leave on a hunting trip? Weather forecasts drive me nuts because they're always changing which makes planning extremely difficult and frustrating. Just had to vent....

Re: Forecasts
Thanks for the info Casper. I'll keep that in mind. I'm trying to give my wife as much heads up as possible but I don't want to decide until the last minute hence the tension

Re: Forecasts
Three days out if there are no predicted fronts coming in during that timeframe. One to two days out if a cold front is coming. It seems they change the predicted wind forecast all the time with an approaching front. You can't bank on anything if it's more than two days away.

Re: Forecasts
My biggest thing is that I can move my hunt a week forward or push it back and I'm trying to get as many cold days as possible. I'm not concerned about wind direction til i get there

Re: Forecasts
I only depend on wind data the evening before or the morning of a hunt, and of course in realtime before I hit the woods. I certainly try to plan ahead but like you guys said everything is changing all the time.
