Trail Cameras Now??

Unread postby kwaldeier » Mon Nov 28, 2011 1:03 pm

Just curious where would be a good spot to set up cameras now?? Too late for scrapes and illegal for minerals now. I am looking to see what bucks survived the gun season before they lose their head gear. THEN i plan on setting up mineral sites, Mid January. I am putting 4 out tomorrow and am looking for opinions to narrow down my selection!

Well, if your just wanting to take inventory, I personally would place them along edges of fields and funnels (if you have'em). The last thing you wanna do is go in and spread your odor all over the place, which might detour them. I've had luck with field edges, funnels, and saddles. And a word of advice, be sure to secure them to the tree with some chain or calbes. There has been a lot of folks on here reporting stolen and damaged cams. Good luck.

Inventory food... if you are looking to hunt some more, I would put them right inside the the woods on the food you think they are going to. Then if you plan to hunt check the cams before you setup and you will have a good idea which ones to hunt.
