calling to bucks

calling to bucks
over my hunt i noticed if i blow right at the deer the buck perty much new it came from...but if i blew the grunt to the side or down or cuffed it with my hand they would look past or else where ...has any one noticed this as they call to deer

Not to me, all it does is muffle it slightly. If a deer responds they generally come on a rope and angle down wind, which is what my buck did yesterday before he caught an arrow.

Seamed like if They were in sight they knew the direction the noise came from.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

I had a nice 3 y/o come out of a bed 50 to 60 yards away and wander off just out of range a couple days ago... I hit the grunt call once. Had no reaction. I did a doe bleat once, He spun his head around and acted very nervous and quickly walked away... Hunted there the next day and the morning after the buck never came back... Wish I would of never blew that call and just moved.
