With one tag left to fill I hit the woods based on my father in law's observations. With three birds in the freezer I thought I would hunt with the recurve. I have been training with it for three years now and never drew back on an animal. After some time in the blind, I could hear leaves rustling and I saw the biggest tom I have ever seen in my life heading my way. At about 18 yards I drew back on him and sent an arrow right over his back, but having a really quiet bow (thanks to experimenting with RaisedByWolves) it didn't startle him much. I knocked another arrow and he was moving a bit faster. I reminded myself to pick a spot and FOCUS. I drew back blocking out everything from my mind and let him have it. The shot was 28 paces. I hit him just above the heart in the spine and he was down. 25lbs, 12 inch beard, 1 inch spurs. Awesome.
