I added the dark patch that muddy suggested and a glossy clear coat. The hair drier trick appears to have worked so far. I think the last thing I'll do is swap the rubber beard for one made of black paint brush bristles.

I'll post the colors I used a little later. I'm at a Subway right now on my way up north for sturgeon fishing.

Here are the colors I used. I only used a very small amount of the orange to mix with the gold for the tail stripe.

The proof is in the crockpot. I didn't call at all. The bird strutted right into the decoy off the roost.
