I've killed two. One was 1 5/8" and the other was 1 3/4"

I've killed 20 or so toms, and the longest spurs I've gotten were 1 9/16".

Anything over 1 1/4" is impressive IMO.

I have killed 2 that had 1.5 in spurs. I wonder if a double beard is rare? I got my first one this last spring, it had a 10 inch and 7 inch beard. Thought that was pretty cool.

I think it depends on genetics ...these last 2 years (2014-2015) I killed a doubled bearder in the exact same spot....2-3 years prior to that, my buddy killed a triple bearder just a few hundred yards down from were I killed the double bearders.... that's saying something.....

The first bird I killed had a little over 1 1/2" spurs. I had no idea at the time that they were big but my taxidermist did. He kept picking them back up saying he'd never seen any that big. He thought it may have been one of the original birds from when they reintroduced them in the area. Haven't had anything close since.

Interesting Big Hunt, big buck genetics and big tom genetics. Maybe if you find big turkeys you can find big bucks!

Me and my buddy got on one this weekend that was a GIANT! He stepped out at 38 yards but I was waiting for a better shot with the camera but didn't end up getting a shot. You can see his spurs good on the video as he walks away and they may be closer to 2" and that is no lie. Biggest tom I have ever seen! I killed one last year that was an old bird and his spurs are worn down from all the rocks we have here. His are just shy of 1 1/4" and rounded off so hard to tell how long they would really be.
