Turkey Season '13

Unread postby backstraps » Thu Jan 03, 2013 2:48 pm

One of the farms I have sole permission to hunt....has switched back to feeding silage about 2 months ago.

We are blessed with a great turkey population to begin with...BUT, MAN!!! The gobblers are flocking to this farm like crazy.

I was there today and one big field you would have to really look for a cow pile that had not been scratched in.

I seen a flock with over a 100 turkeys the other day through the glasses. There were at least 30 mature GOBBLERS! I found another really good double beard bird like my 2010 archery bird.

I am so excited for April to get here.

Thanks guys

Uncle Lou I am only about 125 miles from Oak Ridge. I know some great spots in Oak Ridge. They have a draw hunt inside Oak Ridge too. Sorry for taking so long to reply. Season opens in April. Shoot me a PM maybe we can hook up. Generally the birds dont get very vocal until last of April unless the.weather is nice.
