Scored my first turkey with a bow Saturday!

I ended up shooting my first turkey with a bow yesterday. A mixed flock came by and I ended up shooting a longbeard.
It was an extra special hunt for me because my Mother was with me. In PA, you can't hunt by yourself until you're 16 years old and my Mother took me out to the woods when I was 12-16 years old because my Dad worked too late through the week. She grew to love the outdoors, and now occasionally, I will take her with me and sort of return the favor.
This flock came in behind us, but the wind was so loud, we didn't hear them and one of them caught movement and they worked out of range before I could get a shot. The wind calmed down about 30 minutes later and we actually heard one of them gobble. I didn't have a turkey call with me so I started whistling a kee-kee. I heard some hens responding and pretty soon they worked into sight. I got to full draw and a jake walked into my shooting lane. I almost let him have it, but I let him go. The next bird that walked into the lane, was the bird I killed.
We were hoping to see a rutting buck, but settled for a fall Tom. :-)
