Big bear

Unread postby Schultzy » Wed Apr 07, 2010 4:01 am

It's always neat seeing a picture of a big bear that someone shot. Big bear pics fire me up!!

I guess what I'm getting at Is lets see a picture of your biggest bear. What did he weigh (dressed)? If you had his skull measured what did the skull measure out at? Bow or gun kill? What state?

This one was a giant sow that just missed P&Y... The Bathtub bear made P&Y Easy and just missed B&C all time. It did make B&C 1 year honerable mention, although I chose not to pay to put it in the B&C book..

That's too bad AC you didn't keep the skull. Looks as though the bear you shot In this pic could've weighed much more then he did too. He's sure got the big front legs characteristics of a big bear but seems he didn't have much fat or something on him. Maybe It's just the way he's laying too. Nice looking head though!!

Awesome bear!! Thanks for posting!!

There aren't too many sows In the books so that would've been pretty damn cool. None the less, what a monster of a sow!!

That's one big bear Dan. Way to go!!

Here Is mine, shot In 2000 In Minnesota. He dressed out at 325 pounds. His skull measured out at 20 5/16. I entered him In the P&Y book but decided not to put him In the B&C honorable mention book. If I get one that goes 21 Inches you can bet he'll go In the all time one then. This bear also didn't have much fat at all on him. He should've easily broke the 400 pound dressed mark. I don't have a pic but my other hunting buddy that hunted with me that year shot a 400 pound dressed bear that scored out at 20 12/16. I saw that bear 2 weeks earlier at about 50 yards down wind of me checking the bait. I knew then he was close to a booner. Glad one of us got him!!

You're right, he was tall and lanky but very lean. I was wishing I would have killed him in October or something so he would have possibly had more weight on him.
Nice bear pics guys.
