Finally Baiting
Finally was able to get out there (Robert & I) and place the first bear bait of the year and trail camera set up. It is a simple bait station for either weapon of choice. We take a post hole digger, dig down about 3 to 4 feet, fill it with bait, stuff that hole with a log, use a good scent and the bears will do the rest, as the hole gets bigger we will cover bait accordingly. This is in a new spot on public land (literally thousands of acres) I scouted last year during the Muzzle Loader deer season. I only lasted one day, my foot swelled up good (from surgery) and decided I better not push it. There is still snow in the shaded areas in higher elevation areas, other than that it its totally gone. Ticks are out pretty good. Did find many deer wolf kills from this past winter UGH. I will be using a QuietKat fat tire bike to bait this bait station and others this year. Will post pictures and adventures throughout the baiting and hunt season.

First bear of the season and a small one at that, it hasn't even opened up the bait yet. Finally was able to get out there and check my bait. The date is obvouisly wrong. I dont know what to expect at this bait as its out in the middle of no where and on public land, this will be interesting to see how this works out!
My new toy...was a absolute blast using this QuietKat bike to bait today!

Re: Finally Baiting
Straight for the camera. Is that pretty common on your baits?
Bet they are hungry after such a long winter.
