You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Thats awesome Jim! I don't recall running into that guy, but I ran into some of his Goons. There are a lot more than just him up there doing that crap, and what really sucks about that is that the warden thinks everyone is poaching or illegally guiding cause the problem is so big.
That guys goons were caught on film at one of my bait sites and then he told me it was "his" area. The guy said it was Greelys camp or something to that effect. I said show me a bait you have near me and I will move... He then said his nearest bait was over a 1/4 mile away. I refused to move, I had used that bait site several years before he confronted me, and there was no sign of anybody back there till just before he came along... Matter of fact, when I set that bait I had to chainsaw thru several trees that were over the logging road.

Anywho, for what they are saying this guy did, his fines are nothing... In Wisconsin he would of been hit with a lot more and jail time.

4,000 is a lot of money in general, but for what he did seems to be a slap on the wrist. should have been at least 10,000 in my opinion. life is so much easier when you follow the rules.

I agree. Slap on the wrist. You can more than that on a week long outfitted hunt. Bet he doesn't skip a beat.

Shawn Clough of "Redneck outfitters" is the next one they need to nab... He takes over the Popular river campground during bear season.

As hunters , we need to push for stiffer fines and jail time ETC. The reason is they are damaging the sport. I imagine it is rampant up there. I had a guy bait a few sights for me south of Crane Lake Mn. in 2003. He didn't do anything illegal in front of me but he was one of a kind. I pulled up to his house and all but turned around to go home. He had a bull moose head on his porch rotting away. No tag on it neither. He had rotten coons he skinned and never took in still hanging in his shed. He had a skeleton of a bear on his roof, rotting . Bear bait and chickens eating the bear bait. As I was heading down the road a this guy puts on the brakes and skids to a stop. It was him alright. Anyway, if we put pressure on the DNR to raise fines , there will be a few less violators to share the woods and game with.. Win ,, Win.

Those of us who live here are fed up.
And those of us who have been driving 4.5 hours from home for 25+ years doing our own baiting/hunting are really sick of this crap too. I almost gave up about 5 years ago but decided against it as the wannabee's would've snatched up our old bait sights. I couldn't let them win.

This guy was caught partly because a couple legit local bear guides gave insight and tips.
