Pines and thick cutover

Unread postby Trap » Thu May 08, 2014 2:06 pm

where would you look for buck beds on this piece of property?
the clear looking areas are thick cutover
remainder is pines except for the ribbons of hardwoods along the creek bottoms
thanks for your input

I'm no hill country expert so hopefully others will chime in but I would scout in the SE corner (above the notch) and in the NW corner. Looks to have the most interesting terrain away from the roads.

Interesting piece of property... Looks to me that the best bedding potential is going to be on the transition line where the two types of vegetation meet on the slopes to the creeks. Thats where I would scout the most and expect the oldest bucks to be bedding. I marked a couple elevation dots on the topo, but there is not a lot elevation wise to work with.
