Mountain Land bucks, private and public

Unread postby Dreambig » Thu Apr 17, 2014 3:22 pm

Love everything you do here, I have lived hunting off of the info in your DVDs. I was curious what input you had on some topo maps of an area I hunt, parts of it are private and the mature buck I am positive get influenced by the activity on the private land, Dailey dirt roads being driven, cutting firewood, horse back riders, hikers ect. So with that said what are some peoples thoughts on this area!?

PA is the state. acorns are number one, and some corn and soybeans fields way down low, a few clover plots only 1/4 acre plots though. Apple trees are also planted through out the area but not matured yet. Mostly natural browse created by select timbering and clear cuts .

That looks like a huge area and very steep! Ive never hunted on a mountain but i would say you would want to break that place into multiple scouting trips. Its hard to tell because theres no scale on your map. First i would drive around and see where people are accessing and then try picking out a certain portion of that area to scout. Bigger properties seem to have more overlooked hotspots, might even be near the parking lots. Good luck!

I will take a look at it tonight when I get a chance and mark up your map... I have a busy day today, so if I forget bump the thread.

Here i marked off the private land and the parking lot, I definitely will and have scouted this property over multiple trips, i am just looking to see if someone else will see or point out something i am missing! The more angles i can get a look at the property the better information i have to go after the biggest buck in the area! The property i marked in private i have permission to hunt as well.
