Lake St. Clair Musky

Unread postby Uncle Lou » Sat Jul 11, 2020 11:00 am

Musky Charter today with the core of our deer hunting camp, Dan, Kingbee, Patrick the Killer, and myself (Randy didn't go). Dan (not dan) and I were at a fishing show back in February at the Novi Expo. Walked by a charter service and told Dan we need to each book a trip. He got the Musky trip which we did today and I booked a smallmouth trip for a little later.

Patrick the Killer, Dan's son, reeled in the only fish today. Only hit we had, weather held beautifully today until we got off. About a 40" I guessed and the capt. agreed, so we never measured.

Here are a few pics.

all mine but this one.

had to sneak in a pic from crappie fishing the other night, definitely not great lakes pic.

Got to get a freighter in there. This is heading into the St. Clair River which then goes north into Huron

Nice fish!

Nice pics Lou. I went on a musky charter a few years ago on St. Clair, heck of a good time.

Thanks guys it was a fun trip, wish we loaded the boat with those muskys, but they say the fish of a thousand casts, or something like that. Figured trolling 5 hours with 8 lines is like a few thousand casts

So your the one that texted me the musky pic this morning.

I didn’t recognize your number because I somehow never added it in my contacts.

Great job Lou. Looks like an exceptionally great day as far as musky fishing goes. Doesn’t get better than that.

It’s the fish of 10,000 casts ;)

I still have about a few thousand to go to get my next one this year.

It was me, I thought of you when we did that. And I put it was a charter, I know its not the same as DIY on musky. But you ever want to come here and try, Lake St. Clair is known for world class Musky. Seems out there you just drive around trolling huge baits fast. We bumped into a few small mouth fishing a couple different times.

 Embarassed now. I thought I was in, I usually don't assume things and sign my name.
