On top of hunting i really enjoy fishing.
I am getting pretty good at jigging the rivers for Walleye and i have a bunch of trips planned for the year. Like 2 a week. LOL
How many of you find your hobbies collide. Like i have to choose between turkey and walleye fishing. Last couple of years walleye fishing has been winning.

It depends on how passionate you are about hobbies in general and how much time you have on your hands. For most, some sporting hobbies are given up to be a top achiever in others.

Re: Michigan river jigging walleye
I know the feeling since I have been spending a lot of time on the hard water so scouting has gone by the wayside at the moment.
Now spring coming soon so good time for scouting, turkeys, late ice and early rivers so always a challenge to blend it all. Oh don't forget family balance.
Better then being a couch potato :)

Re: Michigan river jigging walleye
I have lots of hobbies and I look forward to the start of the season to each and every one. I agree, juggling hobbies might keep me from becoming the best I can be at a single one but my ultimate goal is to have fun and enjoy life. So I ride it until the wheels fall off. If u wanna go fishing then do it, in the end your the only one who has to answer for your choices.
Life is hard; It’s even harder if you are stupid.

I need another 20 hrs in the week (along with the rain to stop) so I can fish, mountain bike, as well as scout for next years' deer season. Hunting has definitely become my favorite hobby, but it is very helpful for me to have others to go to.

Absolutely love spring fishing the D River. If anyone on here ever wants to get out in April or May, catch some limits & chat whitetails, let me know!
People got lots to say about lives they’ve never lived. Comparison is the thief of joy.

Re: Michigan river jigging walleye
I can’t wrap my head around how anyone would struggle with choosing a turkey over walleye fishing? Walleye dinner beats dry old turkey dinner any day in my book
My hobbies don’t really overlap, very seasonal. Fall its bowhunting, Winter it’s ice fishing and snow shoeing in to go ice fishing, Spring and summer it’s fishing and backcountry camping or kayaking to go fishing. Biking, sports, etc gets sprinkled in here and there as needed.
