Re: DEER BED PICS
Great topic, Zap- one of my favorites. "It's all about bedding..." quote from the BEASTMASTER.
Here's a pic of a buck's bed that will be five and half years old this fall, if he survives the winter/coyotes/poachers. This is a primary bed for the buck, and he uses it on multiple wind directions. He also has swamp perimeter beds when he is not disturbed, and can be closer to food and does. For heavy pressure Michigan public land, he is a true survivor:

Re: DEER BED PICS
Found this buck bed today. It overlooks an inside corner of a CRP field.
Lots of the brush at the transision line of the woods/feild was shredded.
Looked like from travel into the woods.
Walked into the woods and found these rubs on a trail paralleling the field edge, about 40 yards in. They were going away from the bed. Followed the trail back to the bed.
My guess is he is coming in from the field and going out thru the woods.

Re: DEER BED PICS
Dan, no beds in the "cave" this winter for some reason, maybe it's just a fall bed.

I can understand that Chris... Seems like the field edge cover would be to open in wintertime.

Re: DEER BED PICS
This is the bed Chris was talking about:
Just to the right of the bed is as field.. Good cover when the pic was taken, and good cover in the fall. But as winter arrives its to open to view the bed from the field.
