Average elevation gain/loss scouting

I see threads about distance covered scouting, and it seems the average is 2-4 miles. But I am curious what is the average elevation gain/loss in that distance. It varies for me, but a long day of scouting in the mountains on public land can be 6 miles and 2000 feet gain/2000 feet loss give or take.
