Decided to head up to the cottage to ice fish our summer spots. Didn't find any fish but we did find a rack of a dead deer! lots of tracks in this rugged country.. Would've loved to spend more time scouting, but as always time is limited... Image Image Image Image Image

Great looking country. 8-)

I don’t ice fish much anymore. Everytime I do I am thinking about scouting and asking myself why I’m wasting time looking down a hole.

Yeah, i think my Ice fishing days are done. I only ever ice fished with my late uncle, and the last time i went with him, i would have thought he won a Cabela's shopping spree! From the Taj Mahal of portable shanties, to super warm heaters, cozy lounge chairs and every other toy imaginable, all hauled out with two four Wheelers...no, can't see myself walking miles out on the ice and sitting on a bucket. :snooty:
Now, frozen water means scouting those hard to reach places in the marsh! I'll save the fishing for my kayak.
