I have the NWS chart for daily rainfall/snow marked on my desktop and check it daily. Below is the link for todays chart (Monday Feb 26th) for Wisconsin. There may be one for Minnesota also.

The far right column shows snow depth on the ground. Not all of the weather stations have entries but most do. Being that the location of the workshop is right across the Miss. River, I looked at Pierce county, Wis. Currently 13-18 inches on the ground. Two days ago showed new snow of 4 inches with 18 on the ground. My guess is with the temps this week, snow depth will go down fast. You can watch this daily and it gets posted around 9am every day with new updates.

That is pretty accurate at least for Pierce and Chippewa counties. I live in Chippewa and they are pretty much spot on with our snow cover. I have land in Pierce and was there Saturday and it sounds right for there as well. We will get some melting and settling this week.

You can google snow depth map then add your city of interest. Click on weatherstreet map should be top site on search. I use this map annually for a variety of hunting applications. I used it a lot last year to check snow depths across the west. Its nice to look at during bad winters such as last year to avoid high winterkill areas. Seems to be pretty accurate.

Anyone staying in Red Wing, MN or passing through on Saturday morning that I could catch a ride with?
My wife is coming down and will have the car for the day.
Thanks in advance

I'm staying in at the Super8 in Redwing. I should have room if you need a lift.

I live about 15 miles from Red Wing. You should be just fine on the snow. Been really warm the last few days and took a bunch of snow out with it. Good luck, wish I was joining you guys.

Lots of fun, really enjoyed looking Jeff's property over. Lots of really good examples of hill country bedding. Thanks again Dan and Jeff for the opportunity to increase my deer hunting knowledge. 8-)Just an added thought, Dan had his sticks there. I'm only 5'9" and have short legs. Had absolutely no issues getting up a tree with those sticks. If my tired old knees can handle them I can't imagine them being a problem for most anyone. I'll be ordering 5 as soon as I hear they're taking orders!
