I was out taking a stroll through the woods today. Just doing some deer activity spot checks. Let me tell you the woods were pretty open due to some hot burning the forestry did. Lots of browse but not may thickets for deer to hide.
Any ways I was cutting back along a low ridge and eyeballed a 3 ft high patch of palmettos I was going to pass by.
Man, I get within 25 yds and out runs this coyote. It got low to the ground and hauled but.
It sure did surprise me.

I was doing a site reconnaissance in an old citrus grove once - rode a 4 wheeler right into a pack of coyotes. I was within 25 feet and never saw an entire animal - just a tail here, shoulder there, ear here kind of thing as they got out of dodge. Probably 6-8 full grown coyotes at less than 10 yards and they sure used the terrain to their best advantage.

Interesting.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Yeah that's true with all predators. More than a couple times in my life I've for some reason retraced my steps in the snow to find coyote, bear or cougar tracks in my first set!!
Happiness is a large gutpile!!!!!!!
