Saltwater Marsh

Unread postby JackKnifeJake » Sat May 02, 2015 11:55 pm

Ive been looking at WMAs here in Va and the ones on the coast have saltwater marshes. Would the freshwater marsh tactics also work there? Or do deer not bed in a place surrounded by salt water?

I have hunted saltwater marshes and they use them the same way.

Same way...I've hunted marshes in the Back Bay area down in Virginia Beach...even hunted islands on their draw where the deer swim out to them once pressure hits. All similar tactics.

Just make sure you keep in mind when you wade out to an island that the tide could change and leave you stranded.

All tactics are simular. Tide is a major apoach factor. In the places I hunt, we are very flat, a rise of 2' can be a ridge.
