Does anyone know the code to put in to have the cal topo mark the 1/3 elevation all the way around all directions

I think it would be in good interest when guys ask for bedding points on hills just to mark the 1/3 for them or show them how to and tell them to walk it and find the beds.

How are you identifying the "1/3" line. I the example in the other thread (post#2) the values used in the formula are 2300-2340ft. 2300ft is the second index line from the summit in both sections of the map.

Are you just eyeballing the military crest or are you specifically dropping the 200ft.

You will have to look at the map of your land and see what the elevation is there and you those numbers in place of the formula. For instance the place I was scouting yesterday is about 850 elevation so I put in about 800 to 860 and cover that portion. Kinda divide your hill up on three equal parts and use that top 1/3 most of the time and elevation line with the elevation marked on it will be right in the sweet spot but can vary to some degree depending on terrain.
