I grew up walking ridges. There are bottoms and a few marshy areas in the places I typically hunt, but they are all relatively small so today I decided to go check out some bottomlands about 30 minutes down the road (why I had never been there I don't know)
It didn't take long to find sign of deer and hunters on the ridges and the buffer zone of the bottoms that weren't flooded. From there it was a cool learning experience. I found several bedding areas with fresh beds and had fun getting to them without waders.
I'm going to go back soon (come time to shed hunt) and actually map out everything and why it is where it is. Today I just wanted to get a feel for it.
Best looking bed I found
Rubs coming from it
Random finds. I also found several deer bones but no skulls to go with them
