For the guys goin to the 17th workshop coming up, what are you hoping to learn.
I hope to learn to better my setups on the beds.
Find better beds
Learn to determine when beds are being used.
I can do pretty well at finding beds I think but the ones I find don't seem to be a primary bed so I thinky timing with ones I find are off. I started hunting this way thinking if there was a bed he was using it, and I found this I not the case.
I hope we can get some good questions for Dan to help us on.

Re: 2015 workshop questions
I've only hunted for 3 years and have only shot two deer. (a spike and a doe) I could've killed a couple of small bucks last year but rules on the land I was hunting on wouldn't allow it. I still consider myself very new to hunting and brand new to this style of hunting. I have a lot to learn and I'm hoping that going to these workshops will put me on the fast track to successful deer hunting! I'm really looking forward to it...
Questions I know I have will primarily relate to bedding, wind, and setups. Pretty much what the main topics will be... lol.
I hope to put what I've learned to use and am able to kill my first public land deer and first buck this next season.
I'm going to scout a few marshes/swamps tomorrow, based off of what I've read on this forum so far. After I go to the workshop, I'll go back again and either confirm what I find or find some more spots!

Re: 2015 workshop questions
I have spent the majority of my 8 years bowhunting over fresh rubs and scrapes, with nothing to show for it. I've taken a doe almost every year which I'm grateful for but I am obviously doing something wrong.
Looking forward to learning:
-How to identify bedding (doe/buck)
-Where to focus when electronically scouting a property, to save time on the ground
-How is this different in marsh/farm/northwoods country? I hunt them all
-Stand placement and how to approach a spot
-Ask Dan to look at maps of my primary spot in Vilas county. I'm assuming his feedback could be applied to most other spots in that area and that could help me focus scouting efforts for 2015
Reading this is great, watching the DVD's have also been helpful, but I believe seeing it in person will bring it to a new level.

These two points are my thoughts exactly. To me, bedding has always been.. "somewhere in that thick stuff". I would basically hunt exit trails coming from thick areas; but if you walked along the transition... I'd see tons of trails. How could I possibly narrow that down? I never saw any actual beds and never fully understood how and why they bed. I can't wait to see some examples of this. Once I get a better understanding it would help me narrow down spots.
Your second point is a good one as well. I have 80+ gamelands in my state. There are thousands of acres to hunt. Where do I start? Why? How? When? etc. I'm sure these seminars will help me cut out some of the extra nonessential land and focus on where deer are going to be and the best spots for me to go in for the kill.

Re: 2015 workshop questions
I think the biggest thing I want to gain more knowledge on is when and why bucks bed where they do. Hoping that seeing some of these things in person will help me on that subject. Just can't thank Dan and everyone else on this site enough for sharing years and years of knowledge and wisdom with all of us. It definitely shortens the learning curve for me as well as others I'm sure. I can't wait until the weekend of the 17th!

Right on, PLB! "Marsh Gazelle" is a fitting description of Dan!

This! Where I hunt there's so many ridges and so much land. How do you go about narrowing down an area especially one that has big bucks? I've done OK on this land but I want a mature deer.

I remember that from the time I went. I figure when Dan comes down here in these ridges, I'll need a medic.
