Still winter up here but the time is very very close, one nice warm up and I will be hitting the woods hard. My absolute favorite time is when the snow is just about done but its cold enough to freeze the swamps solid enough to walk on. I could almost skate from bed to bed scouting the area. And of course any time before green up and tick up is great too.

January through May. We don't get as much snow here (average 17" for the season) and when we do get some snow it doesn't really change deer patterns. So some snow can really help you figure some things out much quicker.
