you always manage to find a giant! Isnt it awesome our season opens over a week earlier this season? Id like to find a velvet boy on the 1st day or 2.

I cant glass much were I hunt, mostly hardwoods and Im not getting many buck pictures but I havent been were they like to hang out this time of year.

There is 1 GIANT running my 300 acres and Im trying to find him. I wish I had a picture... I have last years but he is a non typical freak 15+ points and heavy.
Funny thing is a kid a half mile away found his sheds and 1 had a car side view mirror stuck on the horn! It was just a plastic shell.... and I tihnk he will be fine since he shed the antlers normally.

You got last year's picture? Or a picture of the antler?

Yes i i was sitting in a tree. I find beans and alfalfa to be best bets in august. I dont get near close to their bedding to disturb them just close to there food sources to get good film and see what kind of potential is in the area.

Were you scouting in a tree stand? like an observation stand? Ive been thinking about this... but dont want to put an additoinal pressure.
What is your strategy for an august sit? thanks

Here is another good one from the other night. I am having a tough time figuring out which deer this is and where, when, or if I have seen him before.

Here are some more from the other night - I think I will be heading out tonight as well. It should be a good evening.

Hey Moon...Its been a while. Looks like your summer scouting is going great! I was wondering if you have filmed any bucks that you found sheds too? I might have missed it in the postings.

Hey man. I got antlers to a lot of the deer that I go and check out throughout the summer. I got antlers to quite a few of the bucks in these threads. I don't film them though, I do take pictures.

Here are some more of a big one. Last night I went out and saw a ton of deer and some good ones too. I have been really focusing on bean fields lately, and fortunately we have been getting a decent amount of rain. All of the green filds look good too - a lot of really healthy deer around it seems.

Here are a few more. These deer are on my cousin's hunting land. The quality of deer is good there if they get age.

I use a spotting scope. It is handheld. I actually had one that I loved up until about two weeks ago or so when it met its demise. Now I got a new one which I don't really like.

Here are a couple more, including the 8 point and 7 point that are always together and are pretty much an automatic when I check the field.

Awesome pictorial MDD. I was out in Maryland a month or so ago, around Frederick. It was very lush around there.
