This field has been absolutely loaded. My problem is that deer enter it from the east, north, and south.

Trust me that is the good problem to have. I have no visuals and nothing on the cameras to hunt this year, not too worried because my best places to hunt are remote but like I said, good problem.

Checked out some real tall stuff - fields are really overgrown. I managed to catch these two though.

Still just a bunch of mediocre bucks showing up with enough light to get pictures. The big ones are coming out real late or at a long distance.

Here are a couple more. I watched this first buck come out to the field with his buddy. There is one really big deer in this area that I have only seen one time this summer - in broad daylight - but the camera battery was dead.

These deer were all in the same field

These deer were hanging out down near the water. I thought it was good scenery so I snapped a couple pictures.

It was a beautiful night to be out. No bugs, and no humidity. I filmed a bunch of deer, 2 possible shooters. I had a 3 yr old 12 point 5 yards from my tree. Talk about an adrenaline rush! When i figure out how to post pixa from my phone I will.

Best night of the year for me tonight. Saw 8-10 really good bucks and one giant - the best buck I have seen this summer so far. I will post some pictures tomorrow night.

Here is the biggest one I saw last night. He has great mass, beams, height, and brows. He likes the beans too. The pictures aren't too good because it was pretty dark by time he came out and he was off quite a ways.

Moondoondude,

you always manage to find a giant! Isnt it awesome our season opens over a week earlier this season? Id like to find a velvet boy on the 1st day or 2.

I cant glass much were I hunt, mostly hardwoods and Im not getting many buck pictures but I havent been were they like to hang out this time of year.

There is 1 GIANT running my 300 acres and Im trying to find him. I wish I had a picture... I have last years but he is a non typical freak 15+ points and heavy.
Funny thing is a kid a half mile away found his sheds and 1 had a car side view mirror stuck on the horn! It was just a plastic shell.... and I tihnk he will be fine since he shed the antlers normally.

Were you scouting in a tree stand? like an observation stand? Ive been thinking about this... but dont want to put an additoinal pressure.
What is your strategy for an august sit? thanks
