When I was in Michigan, there's state land down by the state line that I was scouting that was slithering with them, in knee deep water. I almost caught a few by hand. Made me think about doing some bow fishing.

Didn’t catch many this morning but the ones I caught were toads. Lake is turning over making conditions a bit squirly. Was fishing in 30’ water 15’ down using two 1/8 oz jigs and couldn’t keep it against the structure to save my life. Fun but not ideal.

Nice ones Long John! And sweet bass with a beauty of pic Hawthorne. Nothing to see here, bit burned out/lazy and transitioning into whitetail mode.

Did some fishing after the first week of summer 3d league last night. Rivers have FINALLY come down to wadeable levels. Good night time dry fly fishing is here and it FINALLY feels like summer.

It’s Lake Erie. Not to sound cocky but it’s stupid easy to catch fish out there. As long as you can get out to where they are, it’s real easy fishing. Usually 2 hours to get 18 walleyes to keep for 3 guys. And that includes throwing back everything under 18”. No big ones this year. I’m holding a 25” and 26”

In contrast, Winnebago and Green Bay are like fishing after a big cold front possible in comparison. Night and day difference. And I usually prefer the challenge, but this is fun for a week every year

Doesn’t take away how great those walleyes look. Outstanding.
