Couple MI steelies
My first and second ever both from the same hole about 5 days apart. I caught the second one tonight! Not a ton of fight in 35 degree water...

Re: Couple MI steelies
i really need to get in to steelhead fishing... i see pictures and hear about how much fun it is. Being a newbie to MI, I had never really heard of it until I moved here. Now I just need to find some spots... (not the 6th St. Bridge in GR with a billion other guys though! haha).

Mibowhunter, I hear ya I fished 6 th street 1 time and never been back all these guys acting like the own the river. Although my little brother manages to limit out almost everytime he is there. I like to go north Muskegon, white or pere Marquette. I do more salmon fishing than steelhead, salmon seem easier to catch/line lol.

Re: Couple MI steelies
gogebicbuckslayer, have you ever fished Crockery Creek for trout or Steelies? I know of some good holes that almost always have plenty of steelhead in them, but when the economy tanked a lot of people started fishing more and the honey holes were found by a lot off people. My neighbor said he used to catch over 100 steelies a year out of one hole (he's retired), but a couple years ago he quit fishing it because it doesn't matter what time of the day or night he goes there somebody is fishing it. I hear a lot of people do good all over that creek though.

Re: Couple MI steelies
The holes I'm talking about are in the Ravenna area. Crockery dumps into the Grand river not to far from Nunica. I have helped plant Brook trout in it for the Ravenne conservation club for several years, except for last year when I let my membership lapse. I may go to the meeting this Tuesday to rejoin, catch up with the guy's and check into helping out with planting some brookies again. They usually get 9"-12" fish to plant.
