Glad I found this site
I used to have access to private land as well as public here in CT. But now I'm strictly Public. If nothing else the scouting has been schooling me to a better level. For the last 2 years I have been concentrating on Dan's videos. Why didn't I know about this earlier in my hunting career. I've been hunting for over 40 years and didn't realize a different way to scout and hunt. Dan thanks for the great videos. Learning a lot here in CT...

Glad see you joined us CT! Four more months and season will be getting close.
I'm reason they call it hunting and not shooting.

Thanks for the welcomes. Mid September will be here in no time. I found some decent bedding in a cattail chocked pond this past winter. It has brush pockets within the cattails that have multiple tracks heading in and out. It will be exciting to see what comes out toward the corn fields on an adjacent property.

Re: Glad I found this site
You are right, you really need to step up to the plate when it comes to public land. I am not sure why, but even in the spring and summer, I drive around the public land and see more deer on the private than public. One thing is, at least the guys who hunt public and private land say when you get a deer on public land , you earned it. Many say there is no comparison between the two. I wouldnt know cause I only hunt public land.
